Banquets

General Information and Policies

 

Towson Golf & Country Club, a private country club organized for the benefit of its members, welcomes the use of its private facilities by both members and non-members for dinners, parties, receptions and similar events. Our Banquet Coordinator will happily assist you in planning your special event.

 

Scheduling

Private functions require a signed room agreement at the time of booking. Cancellations must be made in writing and addressed to the Banquet Coordinator. We do not have scheduled times for wedding receptions. In the event of booking two events on a given day, we require a minimum of two and a half hours to breakdown and re-set for the next event.

Hold Policy

A function date is placed on hold for two weeks with no commitment from the client. In the occurrence, another party is interested in the same date; the client will be notified and asked to make a decision within 48 hours.

Charges

To hold rooms for special functions, a deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied to the ending balance on your final bill. In the event of a cancellation, deposits are non-refundable. Members may use deposits for up to one year. Prices for food and beverages are subject to change within a five percent (5%) increase. Member and non-member events offering food and beverage items are subject to a taxable twenty percent (20%) service charge and five percent (5%) Maryland State tax. Use of Towson Golf & Country Club’s private facilities is subject to a $5.00 per person Room Rental Fee to non-members. (with the exception of weddings) Member’s hosting an event; the room rental fee is waived. Member’s sponsoring an event; the room rental fee still applies. Room Rental fees are based on four hour events. If you extend to five hours, the additional hour is $150.00. In regards to wedding receptions, the room rental fee is $1000.00 (one thousand dollars) regardless on the amount of people attending the reception.

Guarantee Policy

In order to work together to plan a successful event, we ask that you confirm your attendance numbers seven (7) days prior to the event. We realize that numbers sometimes change as the event nears. Therefore, we allow you to increase your guarantee by as much as 5 percent up to forty-eight hours prior to the event at which is not subject to decrease and is considered a financial commitment. If the attendance figure is not received seven (7) days prior to the scheduled function date, the original attendance figure will be assumed correct and charges will be made accordingly.

Billing

The final payment is due the week of your event. There is a $50.00 check fee, if returned by the bank. If your event incurs additional charges, they are due at the end of your event. No exceptions. The club only accepts checks or money orders.

Menu Planning

The menus provided were designed to demonstrate the variety of food available at Towson Golf and Country Club. We are more than happy to customize a menu to specifically meet your needs. Menu arrangements must be made final at least two weeks prior to the scheduled event. With up to 150 guests, we are able to offer a buffet selection, sit-down menus and stations. In regards to 150+ guests, we offer sit-down menus. When selecting your entree, we ask that you limit it to one selection so, as to receive the highest quality of service available. If you wish to offer two entrée selections at your event, we require an additional $3.00 per plate fee.

Food

Towson Golf and Country Club must furnish all food, with the exception of wedding cakes. All food is prepared by our Executive Chef, therefore no outside catering on the Club’s premises is allowed.

Taste Testing

Towson Golf & Country Club does allow taste testing of its banquet menu. You are responsible for the charges of the menu you select, please contact the Banquet Coordinator to schedule an appointment and to select a taste testing menu. With regards to payment, the club will either apply the charges to your event bill or accept a check.

Station Attendants

Station attendants, if necessary, will be charged at the rate of $100.00 for each attendant.

Beverages

Towson Golf & Country Club holds a license granted by the Maryland Alcoholic Beverages Commission and is held responsible for complying with its regulations. Therefore, neither patrons, nor their guests shall be allowed to bring or remove alcoholic beverages from function areas. Only persons who have attained the lawful drinking age will be served alcoholic beverages. Towson Golf & Country Club reserves the right to ask for proper identification, to verify the age of patrons, if in question. We offer a patio bar during the cocktail hour with a set up fee of $100.00. If you wish to have the patio bar throughout your event, the fee is an additional $150.00.

On- Site Ceremony

Towson Golf & Country Club can host ceremonies on our Patio or in the Ballroom, for a site fee of $250.00. It is the host’s responsibility to rent chairs if the patio is used.

Smoking

No smoking is allowed in the Ballroom. Smoking is permitted only on the patio for private parties. No smoking is allowed in the front of the club house. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Dress Code

Country Club attire that is suitable for ladies and gentlemen are required at all times when using the dining facilities. Jeans, of any color, are unacceptable in the clubhouse at any time. When hosting an event, it is your responsibility to inform your guests of the dress code.

Linens

The club provides floor length linens and napkins in the colors of white or ivory at no additional charge. We do offer special order linens at an additional cost.

Floral Arrangements & Centerpieces

Towson Golf and Country Club will assist you in making arrangements for centerpieces to complement any event. We also have votive candles, mirror tiles and hurricane globes that can be provided at no additional charge. Open flame candles of any kind are not permitted by TG&CC.

Property Damage

It is the responsibility of the host to assume full responsibility for any damage to Club property.

Display, Decorations & Personal Property

All display and/or decorations planned by the host are subject to the approval of the Banquet Coordinator. Any property of the host or the host’s guests brought on the premises of the Club and left thereon shall be at the sole risk of the host; the Club will not be liable for any loss or damage to any such property for any such reason.

Any articles of personal belongings, of the host or guest, the club is not responsible for lost, stolen or forgotten items.

Relocation

Towson Golf & Country Club reserves the right to relocate a function to comparable facilities should the need arise. The host will be notified as soon as possible, if these circumstances occur.

Liabilities

We are honored that you are considering the use of our outstanding banquet services. Please be assured that we will do everything possible in the event of an unforeseen circumstance. In any event, however, the Club shall not be responsible for any failure to perform, which is attributable to federal, state, or municipal action or regulation, strikes or other labor problems, fires, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, war, riots, power outages, or any other act of God that is out of control of the Club, which causes damage to or destruction in whole or part of the merchandise or facility of the Club. If, in the event of one of the above contingencies, the host wishes to reschedule the even, and upon the removal of the case of such interruption, performance shall be resumed at the specified agreed upon rate.
