POOL RULES & REGULATIONS

1.           RULES REGARDING CHILDREN

Toddlers are permitted in the main pool but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.   A vest-style flotation device is allowed  to prevent that child from entering the pool without adequate protection.

Waterproof swim diapers and rubber pants are mandatory for all babies and non-toilet trained children, and are available in the pool office. Please be sure to monitor your toddler's swim diaper as an "accident" in the pool will cause the entire pool to be evacuated and closed for a full twenty-four hour period. Per Baltimore County health regulations, dirty diapers are not allowed in the vicinity of the pool; a changing area is provided in the restrooms.

Children  twelve (12) years of age or older who have passed the swimming test, shall have pool privileges under lifeguard supervision.

Noodles and rings are permitted in the big pool only.  Flotation devices of any kind are not permitted in the baby pool;  only small toys permitted.

Children twelve (12) years and and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian for admission into the pool area. In addition, children under twelve (12) years who have NOT passed the swimming test are restricted to the pool's shallow end. 

A guest may be given the swimming test by a lifeguard in order to use the diving or deep areas.

2.  BABY POOL

Children over six (6) years of age are not allowed in the baby pool.  All children     using the baby pool shall be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Small toys are allowed in the baby pool. Please store equipment in the box provided for sharing, or keep with your personal items.

3.  POOL CONDUCT

Pushing, dunking, running, ball throwing, and roughhousing are not allowed within the pool area or bathrooms.

Only one person may be on the diving board at a time.  Diving is permitted straight away from the board ONLY. Floatation devices are not allowed in the diving well.

Small children, unable to use the bathroom independently, must be accompanied by an adult or responsible junior in the bathrooms. 

Cover-ups must be worn outside of the pool area, including the parking lot.

Lounge chairs and chairs are provided primarily for adult use and should be made available to them on a priority basis when the pool area is crowded.

4.  POOL MANAGER/LIFEGUARDS

The Pool Manager, Assistant Manager, and Lifeguards are in charge of the pool area at all times and have the full authority to enforce pool rules as posted. All  persons use this facility at their own risk, and in conformance with all rules and   regulations.  Any person may be barred from the pool area at the discretion of management for violation of rules and regulations.

5.  FOOD AND BEVERAGE

All food must be consumed at designated tables provided in the enclosed pool area and outside picnic tables, with trash placed in trash cans. Food may not be consumed at the side of the pool. Beverages may be consumed in the pool area provided that the containers are non- glass and are disposed of properly when empty.  No alcoholic beverages may be brought to or consumed in the pool area unless purchased at the pool or club bar.

6.  SEASON

The pool will be open for the season from Saturday, May 28th through Labor Day, Monday, September 5th.

7.  POOL HOURS

The pool will be open as per the calendar posted.  Please see the pool calendar for opening and closing times.  The pool will close early for home swim meets.  The pool facilities may close due to inclement weather or when deemed fit by Club Management.

8.  SNACK BAR HOURS

The snack bar will be open as per the calendar.   Please see pool calendar for hours of operation. 

9.  PRIVATE PARTIES

Any requests by the membership for use of the pool for parties during and after pool hours must be presented to Trish Adams, Assistant General Manager.  She can be reached in the Clubhouse Main Office.

10.  SWIM LESSONS

Please contact the Pool Manager for information concerning swimming lessons for your children.

11.  GUEST FEES

Pool Guest Fees for the 2011 season are $5.00 per guest per day. There is a one time charge of $75.00 for unlimited use for your Nanny or Babysitter. The Nanny or Babysitter’s name must be provided to the office for our records.

12.  SWIM TEAM

We are proud of the Towson Golf and Country Club Swim Team’s accomplishments each year.  All children are encouraged to participate if they can swim the length of the pool.  We hold swim meets in June and July with other clubs.  For further information, please contact the Swim Team Chairperson.

13.  Pool Smoking Policy

Smoking inside the perimiter of the gates is prohibited.  Members/Guests may smoke on either side of the outside gates.
