Screaming Eagles Swim Team!

The TGCC Screaming Eagles made club history on Wednesday, July 16, 2008.  On this evening, our swimmers showed how talented they were led by coaches Chris McGaunn & Mike Raley.  They entered the meet with hopes of winning their 2nd meet of the season, the first win came against Valley Country Club the Wednesday before with a margin of 19 points.   Each swimmer swam the events which the coaches felt would help the team defeat Hillendale Country Club, which they have a friendly rivalry.  At the end of the individual events the Screaming Eagles were behind by 2 points.  The team entered the 5 relays with hopes of winning enough relays to win the meet.  Well the Screaming Eagles did just that they won all 5 relays and won the meet by 33 points. 

The members of this year’s team would like to thank Mags Smith & Charlie Waesche for their years of dedicated service to the team.  They both swam great races against Hillendale.  The team wishes them Good Luck in college and hopes they come back to cheer them on in the future.

Wednesday, July 23rd the team held their Annual Awards Dinner.  Everyone received their medals, pictures and towels, which were this year’s surprise gift for each member.  Along with this the coaches give our some special awards.  The winners of these awards are-
